 If there’s
one thing to be said about
surf photographer Ben DeCamp,
it’s that he’s suffered for
his art. During the course of
his travels around the globe
he has been tear gassed,
attacked by a dog, nearly
drowned and has survived near
misses with sharks, venomous
snakes and wolves (yes,
wolves…). At 21, this
self-taught lensman became one
of the youngest staff
photographers ever for Surfer
Magazine and has since
continued to capture some of
the most progressive images of
the action sports industry.
Ben currently resides in La
Jolla, CA and enjoys less
perilous pursuits such as
writing and playing chess when
not on assignment.
