Colleen Hanley's Another One

With competitive surfing being so dominant in her early years, Colleen found that painting, not competitive surfing, was going to be the key to her finding happiness. With the ups and downs that sponsorships allow, she found herself taking advantage of her creativity, and began to concentrate on her painting. Expressing herself, and her experiences through a brush. Allowing her to become more of a compassionate person, as well grow in more ways than surfing would have allowed her.

I began messing around with bright colors on this piece, and I remember listening to a lot of jazz at the time. When I painted "Another One," I had just come back from Central and South America, where I was influenced a lot from the culture to use these bright colors, and have the confidence to do so. I named it "Another One," mostly because it is another one that I have done. It is just colors, movement, and jazz.

Colleen's work is available in two different size formats, and is available on canvas, and on water color paper.
