Goeie Dag
Welcome back to another issue of The Coconut Wireless! For nearly half a year now, we've been attempting to bring the Waveriders Gallery out of the ether of the internet and into a bricks-and-mortar location worthy of our artists and customers. This last Saturday night, those aspirations became a reality as the Waveriders Gallery held a soft opening to benefit the Tourmaline Tailgaters and their forthcoming memorial at the legendary Tourmaline Surf Park in San Diego, CA. It was a much bigger turn out than we expected (we actually had to make a couple extra booze runs throughout the night...) and it was pretty gratifying to see the looks on our patrons' faces as they admired in person what we had previously only been able to showcase on a computer screen. From here on out, Waveriders' physical gallery will be open to the public Monday through Friday, 10AM - 4PM and on weekends by appointment only. We're also planning on holding events every couple of weeks, so be sure to stop by our site for frequent updates on what's in the works.

As a quick aside, we'd like to thank surf photographer Thor Jonsson for helping us with the gallery set up. As you'll see from the pictures below, there was quite an array of art to hang, and Thor's assistance played a big part in everything coming together in time for the event.

That's all for now, folks. If you're in the San Diego area, we'd love to have you stop by our new digs. Directions can be found here. Until next time...

upcoming exhibits
The next Waveriders Gallery event will be held on March 15th from 6:30-9:00PM. The work of surf photographer David Pu'u will be featured and will include a selection of pieces not available in our online catalog. Surf artist Wade Koniakowsky will also be on hand to conduct a painting demonstration which will provide surf art aficionados with a rare opportunity to watch the creation of original pieces of art right before their eyes. These one of a kind paintings will be available for purchase that evening and a selection of Wade's prints and originals will also be on display for your viewing and buying pleasure. Beer and wine will be provided, so come thirsty!

Waveriders Gallery is located at 10373 Roselle St. Ste 100, San Diego, CA 92121.

Every month we get brilliant submissions from painters and photographers around the world both established and unknown. Carefully picking through these submissions we select a handful of choice photos and paintings to put "on exhibit." In this small way we can introduce you to new artists (or at least new to you). It is our pleasure to present these unique pieces for your enjoyment and purchase.
